My love of the Nigerian Dwarf began with a dream of one day having my own herd of goats. I've lived and worked around the world and everywhere I went I saw goats......all colors, shapes and breeds.... producing wonderful milk for their families. I knew that one day I too would have a few goats at home. That became "quite a few" as I discovered the joy of owning, or rather being owned by, Nigerian Dwarf Dairy Goats.
I was fortunate enough to find a beautiful farmstead in Vermont, one of the most beautiful spots in New England. And we now have a small farm where we raise these beautiful goats, sell milk, cheese, fresh eggs, honey and more.
Please take a moment to view our farm and our beautiful Nigerians....you're sure to fall in love just as I have.
We hope you enjoy your visit and come back often to see what's going on "down on the farm"!
January......time for reflection, anticipation and REST!! It is our quiet time on the farm. Although we are still milking a few does, most are dried off and happily munching hay in their nice barn, waiting for their babies to arrive. Today is the first snow fall of the season and the snow is flying outside my window...but I'm warm and toasty, sitting in front of the farm chatting with you. The goats are happy munching on the Christmas trees dropped off by our customers. We double check all of the contributions to make certain there is no tinsel, overlooked ornament or other potentially toxic items. The goats just LOVE this treat and will devour the branches in short order. We're still making some cheese and participating in both the St. Johnsbury and Montpelier winter markets but once or twice a month versus every Saturday. We still have aged cheeses, feta and chevre available at both markets and farm store. So,,,,while the goats munch, the snow flies, cats curl up in the hay, chickens stay close to the coop ....I'm happy.
Please share us with your friends!
