SALES
In addition to available kids, each year we will select a number of Junior and Senior Does as well as a Buck or two to sell.  This typically occurs during the summer and fall and is done to maintain a consistent herd size.  Therefore, if you see a doe or buck you are interested in that is not currently available for sale please let us know.

Please refer to our "Discount Opportunities" and "Terms of Sale" below for details on purchasing a goat from Willow Moon Farm.

BULLETIN  AUGUST , 2010
Once again, our herd has tested Negative for CAE, CL, Johnnes, Brucellis.  Please be certain that you are purchasing your goats from a "clear" herd.  Ask about testing....it is very important to ensure the health of your herd.
DISCOUNTS ON PURCHASES

If you are interested in purchasing a small or large group of goats, please contact us for discount opportunities.  We do give considerable discounts when you purchase a group of 6 or more goats and smaller discounts for purchases of more than 2 goats.

We also will discount the cost of all wethers and many doe kids when taken before weaning.  You must be willing to bottle feed and preferably have pasteurized goats milk available for the kid.  Our view is that bottle feeding, while we adore the kids, is a labor cost and labor saved can be passed on to the buyer, reflected in the price paid for the kid.  Give us a call and let us know if you would be interested in this option.

TERMS OF SALE

SO YOU WANT TO BUY A GOAT...........

The first question I always ask people who express interest in buying a goat is "Why do you want to own a goat?". While there are no wrong answers, we want to be sure that when you purchase a Nigerian from Willow Moon Farm, you'll be getting a goat that will meet your requirements whether for show, dairy, breeding or a pet/companion for you or your children or another animal on your farm.

WHY CHOOSE WILLOW MOON FARM?

The first question you might ask when considering the purchase of a Nigerian Dwarf Dairy Goat is
"What makes a responsible breeder?"

A responsible breeder will have made the investment in quality animals .

A responsible breeder will protect that investment by providing them with quality care and will perform regular testing to ensure their herd is free from disease.

A responsible breeder will remain available after your purchase to provide ongoing support.

At Willow Moon Farm, we are proud of our beautiful goats and can confidently state that we meet all of the above requirements and more. While our emphasis is on dairy, our goats are carefully selected and/or bred for conformation and health as well as dairy.

We test annually for CAE, CL, Johnnes, and Brucellis and we examine all of our animals regularly to make certain each one is in good health and remains so.

We have had the good fortune to make some great goat friends along the way. We know they are invaluable as a support system for us and we make every effort to provide the same to our customers.

Our breeding season begins in mid-summer....when we evaluate each member of our herd to determine which doe and buck would be the best match and produce the most outstanding kids. Does are bred from October through January for kids to begin arriving in mid-March.

We have been happy with our practice of combination dam and bottle feeding, which has produced very healthy kids that are also very people friendly. Each kid gets held for their bottle and snuggled, kissed and hugged while they are fed. Our kids think people are great!

We are 4H friendly and offer discounts to children who will be raising the goat as a 4H project.
